Israel Railway Museum

One of the biggest and most important projects of the Ottoman Empire, The Hijaz Railway Project was once the largest in the country.   Designed to transport Muslim pilgrims to Mecca and Medina, it was also known for its economic transportation of goods.

Now in its place is the “Israel Railway Museum” featuring the railway history of Israel and its neighboring countries back to 1892. The museum features a collection of rolling stock, signs, tickets and other items. The museum has both an indoor and an outdoor section, with the indoor section being renovated in 2000 for the museum.

Opening Hours:  Sunday to Thursday 8:30 to 14:00
